hula hula special
A very lovely looking blog that I bookmarked a while back and re-found tonight upon browsing through my homepage bookmarks searching for ones that were not livejournals (since they were not working for me tonight).
In other news -- I bought the KITH DVD tonight :) Now I just have to wait for it...

World Trade Center lives on in films
Yes, in every movie I've seen that takes place in NYC since Sept. 11th, I always
find myself scanning the screen to see whether or not the twin towers are there.

My first result was the Bad Doctor, but I went back and changed one answer and became
Sir Simon Milligan ;)

I hope I haven't taken these already! Anyway, here are some quiz results:
 | You Are Edward From "Edward Scissorhands."
You are very shy and often misunderstood. Innocent, sweet, and artistic, you like to pass your days by daydreaming and expressing yourself through the arts. You are a truly unique individual. Unfortunately, you are quite lonely, and few people truly understand you. |

Boardwaddle
I just read about this in today's newspaper. I'd like to go and see all the hounds!
It is April right? Why was it 82º and humid today and why is the temperature predicted to go up to 90º tomorrow?? And why, why are there tons of wasps, hornets, and bees everywhere? Big, dive-bombing giant bees.
Shudder.

I just scored at 58. One point lower than the current high score of 59. Oh oh!

The Big Game....
So playing through an office pool never stops when no one wins the jackpot...
in all of our tickets we had two tonight that had three correct numbers - that's only worth $5 each - and two with just the "big money ball." A dollar each there. If there wasn't a winner of the (what was it, 150 million?) jackpot, I'm sure we'll be in it again for Thursday. Better make sure I've some singles in my wallet tomorrow!

pocket full of stars....
is my downfall.
I just let an hour and 45 minutes slide by while I played a single game... I only stopped because my mouse hand is numb. 1hr 45 min and my score was 160634. When I decided to stop playing, I had 120 seconds on the clock. I could have gone on all night...
my hand is killing me though. That was kind of dumb of me to play when I use that hand more than the other typing numbers at work. Ah...

(I found these quizzes linked here)

What time period are you a Beatle from?
You are a Breaking Up Beatle - There's hardly ever a recording session where all of you are present and the ones that are there usually end up fighting. But you're still making brilliant music... but for how much longer?
 What Beatles' song are you?
You are the song "Nowhere Man." Most likely, you talk in rhyme, are very smart, are short, and named Jeremy. Or maybe you're not. At least, that's the Nowhere Man in Yellow Submarine. You're song starts with some great harmony and then goes into some really awesome lyrics. You're a great song. You should be proud to be Nowhere Man!

I'm seeing Starsailor tonight!
Slowly say goodbye to the 1997 Aptiva... and hello to the brand-new Vaio!
This is me... writing from new computer!!! We put the desk together today in about an hour, I hooked up the computer after that and now we are up and running. Tomorrow I'll be transferring my files over from the old one (hope that goes well) and then I'll feel more at home here, but from first use today I like this a lot. My monitor is huge - a 17" flat and the computer runs so fast... and I played a chapter from Moulin Rouge on the DVD player and it looked BRILLIANT on the monitor. I'm quite excited! The keyboard is quiet - but a few of the keys are in different places than I am used to! Guess my fingers will have to learn something new for home and keep the same old same old for when I am work. I keep placing my fingers where the "end" key should be and it's not there! Heh.
No site writing for me today as my friend will be here soon and later on I am leaving for Starsailor. A good night it shall be...

I am seeing the Kids in the Hall in April!!!!
[08:47 p.m.] Thursday, February 28, 2002
Argh!
I so so so so so so... want to see the Kids in the Hall!!!
It all depends on one person now... and she's not home. If I had randomly bought tickets earlier in the week I could have had brilliant seats - but as of then (and still now) I had no one to go with. They go on sale to the public on Saturday but I found out some big shows are going on sale at the same time and I don't want to get mixed up in that long line so if in fact I do find someone who wants to go... I'll suck up that extra $7 per ticket and just have the tickets held at the will-call window.
(n.p. "Hallelujah" - Rufus Wainwright)
[07:24 p.m.] Thursday, February 28, 2002
Okay, so this is silly but....
Today is almost over for me, and it's the first day since seeing Rufus Wainwright on the 15th that I haven't heard a single song of his! Now of course I can't help if the radio decides to play him... but they haven't as of yet, and they didn't say he's coming up (though Starsailor happen to be)...
Um... but I did check the message board.
and my wallpaper... is no longer the lovely placebo one that I made.

"slow down, you crazy child...
More will be said later on in the main site... but Billy Joel and Elton John were excellent last night. Oh Billy - why did you have the song vote be between "Laura," "Vienna," or "Summer Highland Falls?" SHF won, which is fine 'cos it's one of my all-time favorite Billy Joel songs, but to hear Laura live would have been brilliant! Hehe.
Of course so would have been Vienna. But being that we saw him in Philly... he did Captian Jack :)
I'm trying to make up a list of all the songs they did,
but my brain is not working. It's so incomplete I shall have to wait for my sister to get back from hiking to see if she can add to it.

Billy Joel.... tonight!
So tonight is concert #2 for the year... this time around, it's Billy Joel & Elton John. Yay! My 5th time seeing Billy Joel... last time was also in Philly, in November 1998 (for that concert that was rescheduled twice; it was meant to be May, then BJ got sick, so it was moved to Sept... then November... heh)... we're in the same section this time too, just a few rows higher up.
In 15 minutes we are leaving. It's very early to leave for a
drive to Philadelphia... but we've got to get dinner, gas...
and there's no point to feeling like we should rush eh? Early is better.
A few words from my sister! ---

Um.... okay, expensive
Who tickets? Guess I won't be seeing them.... $54 for the cheapest seat, $250 for the best? Yeah.... and I thought the $45 for the Billy Joel seats this Friday was bad... since when are the Who doing shows anyway? All I did was go to TM to see how much Belle and Sebastian tickets were (and when they were playing) and I saw the link to the Who on the main page. I'd love to see the Who again, but not only is it expensive, it's also on two weeknights in NYC, which makes it kind of impossible.
Now Belle and Sebastian are playing at the Tower Theatre, on a Friday. I doubt I'll be going to this though I'd like to... (oh and in NY on a Sunday...)
Oh, more quiz results, since it seems that's what this pita is for these days...
 Which Winona Are You?
I archived set 14 also. I must let my pages get too long, since I'm only on the 15th now and I've been doing this pita since December 1999!
