What goes around, comes around...
Did you know it was the International Year of the Carousel? I did, but now everyone else can too. Here is a nice article about carousels that appeared in the "Jersey Alive" section of the paper on Friday.

Go here....
...and pick the link on the side called "big brother." It's pretty nifty. hehe :)
My Phillies game was great today - they won 5-2 (over the Giants) with Randy Wolf pitching (and horror shock horror, Jeff Brantley got the save). Woo hoo - two wins in a row for me at the Vet. We bought tickets for their last home game in September - we had a hard time getting them too. We're way up in the 600 level, but behind home so it's all good. More on this tomorrow maybe in the journal. I'm too tired now!

Casper's Queen Site
All I wanted was quick access to the lyrics to "Ogre Battle" and google led me to this site. Wow what a treat - I've hardly begun to sift through it, but it looks great.

Philadelphia Zoo
This is where I went last Sunday. It was fun, but it was quite crowded due to being a Sunday. I'd like to go again with less people there ~ my favorite exhibit was the POISON DART FROGS! Second fave was the birds....

Cartoon!
I don't know, I've rather liked the weather this summer. It's been so cool, save for a few hot days. :)

Bulk Mail: 934 new
That's what I was greeted with tonight at Hotmail. I just deleted the bulk mail folder last night too. Wow - mostly it was the same "Uni Diplomas" spam over and over again. Geesh...

Progress plodding in Verizon strike
You know, this is the first time a strike really affected me personally. Where I work is being screwed as a result of this strike - we just moved to a new building, and have been without phone service since Friday.

I found this news at Yes World
Oh I can't wait - from the Yes World Site: "Yes recorded their July 19 performance at the PNC Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ. Syndicated by SFX Radio Networks the show will be broadcast during the period of August 17-20. Watch for station listings coming soon."
So Jon Anderson was telling the truth then when he said our show had been taped. This will be a gem - that was one of the best concerts I ever saw.

They actually did it
Curt Schilling has been with the Philies since 1992. In recent years, he is always talked of being traded around this time of year, but it never happens.
Today he was traded to Arizona.
Guess he won't be pitching the game I'll be at on Saturday.
I'm going to miss him.

The Unofficial Mike Lieberthal Homepage
Hey, since I'm going to a Phillies game on Saturday (yay!), why not link to a page about Mike Lieberthal?
I have phone ear. I didn't realise how long I was on the phone with D.
Wow.

Hello Kitty Tetris
I bookmarked this site after finding it from someone's pita page a long time ago. Now I don't remember what pita that was... but this link is really cute. You can play Tetris with Hello Kitty heads.

July 25, 1998
I know, I'm linking an archived entry from my own page, but I really liked re-reading it this morning. It's all about the double-header Phillies game I went to, and how both games were 12 innings.

Yes World
Amazing, simply amazing.
I just got back from seeing Yes at the Arts Center in Holmdel. Brilliant - the greatest Yes concert I have ever seen. All epics - I'd have to say my favorite part was "Ritual" or maybe "Heart of the Sunrise," but oh it's so hard to choose!
This is not a concert I will be forgetting very soon. And Jon Anderson ~ you wouldn't have known he was sick last week, there was nothing in his voice to think that.
The crowd too - the crowd was so into it, so wonderful.
This was definately worthy of being called "The Masterworks Tour."
(p.s. sorry for any typos, it's late. Oh, I just archived set six.)
